Compo's request for "Some Enchanted Evening" is played on the radio, dedicated to Nora. A knock at the door makes him think his luck with her has changed, but it is Wally Batty come to say goodbye. He has decided to go home to his mother. A week later, Blamire and Clegg find Compo dressed up and clean-shaven, preparing to move in with Nora. Clegg and Blamire play a trick on Compo, making him believe Wally is gone for good.
